Shri Lalita sahasranamam dhyanashlokas
This sahasranama occurs in Brahmandapurana in the chapter on discussion between Hayagriva ( Lord Vishnu ) and the sage Agastya. Hayagriva is said to have taught the sage Agastya the thousand holiest names of the Goddess Lalita , the Divine Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife.
This is a beautiful prayer addressed to shri Lalitambika, or Shri Tripurasundari, the lovely kind Mother of all who bestows Her grace and strength on everything in the universe. Each word embodies the whole of the Divine Mother, expressing Her incomparable glory, goodness and grace. Each word is a potent Mantra in itself . Recitation of the sacred names and their sound effect radiates the positive energy in all so much so that every moment and action will become a source of joy to himself ( The one who recites with devotion ) and to others who listen to this with devotion. If recitation is done regularly, sincerely and with great devotion , the mind becomes purified.
With recitation , we invoke the blessings of the Divine Mother so that all our thoughts, words and actions will turn into offerings at Her feet. Thus, our thoughts, words and actions gain a divine status and become means to liberation .
